Nova punčka: Ava

Ava adores trains. She enjoys meeting her fellow passengers and listening to their life stories. She loves long journeys where she can observe the changing of the landscape and even see one or two wild animals on the way. Believe it or not, once an actual deer winked at her while it was drinking a cup of tea with its neighbour vixen.

Ava obožuje vlake. Uživa v spoznavanju sopotnikov in poslušanju njihovih življenjskih zgodb. Najbolj lepo se ima na daljših potovanjih, ko lahko skozi okno opazuje spreminjanje pokrajine, še posebej pa jo razveseli, če skozi okno opazi kakšno divjo žival. Ne boste verjeli, ampak enkrat ji je iz gozda pomežiknil čisto pravi jelen, ki je mirno srkal popoldanski čaj s sosedo lisico.

Miss Frost/Gospodična Mraz

Miss Frost is a big fan of winter. She adores just everything about it, especially snowflakes, window frost and snowmen. But the thing she loves the most is ice-skating, so you can often see her practicing her pirouettes on a nearby lake. Do you dare to join her?

Finally a new doll - meet Goldie!

Goldie is a golden girl indeed. Everybody loves her since she always manages to put a smile on their faces with cute jokes, witty ideas and humorous questions. Even her puppy dog adores her because Goldie the only one who always gives it a part of her lunch.

Handmade art doll Goldie is wearing a beautiful crocheted dress in purple, blue and green with cute little handmade flower buttons. She loves wearing ponytails and can easily charm you with her beautiful green eyes. She is approximately 15'' (37 cm) tall and is made of approximately 5000 stitches.

Zlatka je res zlato dekle. Prav vsi jo imajo radi, saj jih vedno znova uspe nasmejati s simpatičnimi šalami, nagajivimi domislicami in hudomušnimi vprašanji. Celo njen kuža ne more brez nje, saj je edina, ki mu prav vsakič brez slabe vesti odstopi delček svojega kosila.

Amelia is the class champion in the construction of really far-flying paper planes. No one can make his plane fly as far as she can. She often lifts her gaze to the sky and daydreams of becoming a pilot. She adores everything that flies: birds, bats, even the insects don't bother her.

Amelia je razredna prvakinja v izdelovanju najdlje letečih papirnatih letal. Prav nihče ne more svojega aviončka spustiti dlje. Sanja, da bo nekoč postala pilotka, zato svoje oči stalno obrača v nebo. Navdušuje se nad prav vsem, kar leta: pticami, netopirji, celo mrčes je nič ne moti.

It's black, it's white ... it's a new doll!

Monique is a special girl. She loves night just as much as she loves day and she could never decide whether she loves white more than black. This is why she simply adores everything in this color combination: pandas, zebras and penguins, vanilla ice-cream with chocolate, chess, crossword puzzles and black & white TV. She enjoys playing the piano and she even considered hanging a pirate flag in her room.

This handmade art doll is approximately 15'' (38 cm) tall and is made of nearly 5000 stitches. Her dress is made out of reused fabric which used to be trousers. There is a small flower on her cap, which is also made of the same labyrinth fabric.

Monique je prav posebna punca. Noč ima prav tako rada kot dan in nikakor se ne more odločiti, ali ima najraje belo ali črno. Prav zaradi tega obožuje vse v tej barvni kombinaciji: pande, zebre in pingvine, vanilijin sladoled s čokolado, šah in križanke ter stare časopise in črno-belo televizijo, njen dan pa ne mine brez da bi obrnila list notnega črtovja in zaigrala na klavirske tipke. Razmišljala je celo o tem, da bi v sobi obesila piratsko zastavo, vse v maniri jina in janga.

Monique je visoka 38 centrimetrov in narejena iz približno 5000 zank. Njena obleka je sešita iz ponovno uporabljenega blaga, ki je nekoč sestavljalo prav posebne hlače. Njeno kapo krasi majhna roža iz istega blaga.

Alien girl

No, we are not alone. Here is the proof – a young and friendly alien girl named Galaxy. I stumbled upon her on my rooftop a few days ago. I just couldn’t miss her spacey turquoise color and her giant antenna ears. The alien girl was simply glowing in her fluorescent orange dress, although aliens are often represented in unusual silver clothing or even without it. There are five beautiful brooches on her dress, made of precious gems, which can only be found on very distant planets. She has spent most of her life on her home comet, which has been passing by colourful planets and shining stars for more than a million years. But now it is time for vacation and, believe it or not, our planet Earth is a real tourist hit up there in the Universe.

Ne, nismo sami. Tu je dokaz – mlada in simpatična vesolja Galaxy. Pred nekaj dnevi sem jo zagledala na svoji strehi. Njene vesoljske modrozelene barve in velikanskih tipalk enostavno ni bilo mogoče spregledati. Vesoljce se pogosto predstavlja oblečene v nenavadna srebrna oblačila ali celo brez oblek, toda Galaxy je prav sijala v svoji živo oranžni obleki. Krasile so jo tudi broške iz posebnih dragih kamnov, ki se jih najde le na daljnih, nam nevidnih planetih. Večino življenja je preživela na domačem kometu, ki že dolga tisočletja šviga med pisanimi planeti in svetlikajočimi se zvezdami, sedaj pa je napočil čas za dopust. In ne boste verjeli, naša Zemlja je letos tam zgoraj pravi turistični hit.

Apricot Dalia

Dalia is a gentle, dreamy girl who loves to read romantic books, plant flowers and watch birds. Do not be surprised if she forgets to join you for tea because of an interesting book or if you catch her in the garden with hands dirty with soil. And please, do not scream if she surprises you jumping from bushes with large binoculars and fat ornithology books.

Dalia je nežno, sanjavo dekle, ki rado bere romantične knjige, sadi rože in opazuje ptice. Zato ne bodite presenečeni, če se vam zaradi zanimivih zgodb v knjigah ne bo uspela pridružiti pri čaju ali če jo boste namesto tega zasačili na vrtu z rokami, umazanimi od zemlje. Glasno pa ne zakričite niti v primeru, če se bo izza grma počasi priplazila z daljnogledom in debelimi ornitološkimi knjigami.

I have recently calculated that each of my dolls is made of approximately 5000 stitches. Is that a lot or what? :) And here is my newest doll. As you can see, a few stitches are still missing :)

What a doll!

Meet Elizabeth (or Lisa, as her friends call her, or Isabelle, as her grand-mère from France names her). She is a playful girl who loves colors and enjoys painting the most beautiful moments of our lives. Her desk is covered with brushes, pencils, crayons and a multitude of unfinished paintings, since she often rushes from one idea to another and forgets what she was doing in the first place.

Handmade art doll Elizabeth is wearing a beautiful crocheted dress in all colors of the rainbow - bright yellow, orange, red, purple, blue and green. Her hair is plaited in an unusual hair style with four braids. She is approximately 15'' (38 cm) tall and is made out of mixed yarn (wool and acrylic).

Spoznajte Elizabeto oz. Lizo, kot jo kličejo njeni prijatelji, ali Isabelle, kot ji rada reče babica iz Francije. Je navihano dekle, ki je zaljubljeno v barve, s katerimi slika najlepše trenutke življenja. Na njeni mizi se valjajo čopiči, svinčniki in barvice ter množica nedokončanih slik, saj Elizabeta pogosto vneto drvi od ene do druge zamisli in ob tem rada pozabi na to, kje je sploh začela.

Prav zato je tudi njena obleka v vseh barvah mavrice – rumeni, oranžni, rdeči, vijolični, modri in zeleni, njeni lasje pa so speti v nenavadno pričesko iz kar štirih kitk. Elizabeta je visoka 38 centimetrov.

Sophie is hungry for knowledge

Sophie is not an average girl. She is interested in much more than just fashion, movies and boys. She is stubborn and headstrong and likes to think for herself. She is interested in philosophy, so she often spends long nights thinking about the world and the meaning of life, but you shouldn’t be surprised if you ever catch her studying astrophysics. She is hungry for knowledge! But you could simply explain all that with her name – it comes from the Greek word for wisdom.

Sofija ni povprečno dekle, saj jo poleg mode, filmov in fantov zanima še marsikaj drugega. Je trmasta in svojeglava. Zanima jo filozofija, zato dolge večere razmišlja o svetu in smislu življenja. Ne bodite pa presenečeni, če jo kdaj zalotite pri astrofiziki - Sofija je lačna znanja. Sicer pa vse pove že njeno ime, ki izhaja iz grške besede za modrost.

Did someone say steampunk?

Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction, which involves an era or world where steam power is still widely used — usually the 19th century and often Victorian era Britain. Works of steampunk often feature anachronistic technology or futuristic innovations as Victorians may have envisioned them; in other words, based on a Victorian perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, art, etc.

This is why steampunk dolls are usually made off metals like copper, brass, steel and iron, rivets, gears and cogs, wood, leather and glass. But have you ever seen a steampunk art doll 100% made of yarn? Here it is!

Victoria loves reading books and is passionate about all kinds of machines. She's dreaming of becoming an inventor just like her big idol Leonardo da Vinci. She is approximately 14'' (35 cm) tall and it took me 17 hours to finish it.

Steampunk ali parni punk, kot bi mu lahko rekli po slovensko, je žanr znanstvene fantastike. Dogaja se v svetu in času, v katerem se še vedno redno uporablja parni pogon (ponavadi gre za viktorijansko Britanijo iz 19. stoletja), vključuje pa futuristične inovacije in razno tehnologijo. Prav zaradi tega so punčke, narejene v stilu steampunka, najpogosteje sestavljene iz raznih kovin, kot so baker, medenina in železo, zakovic, kolesja, zobnikov, lesa, usnja in stekla. Ste kdaj že videli tako punčko, narejeno iz preje? Tukaj je!

Victoria rada bere knjige, strasno pa se navdušuje tudi nad vsemi vrstami naprav. Sanja o tem, da bi postala inovatorka, prav tako kot njen idol Leonardo da Vinci. Visoka je 35 cm, za njo sem pa porabila kar 17 ur. 

Maria, dancer art doll

Maria is passionate dancer. She loves to dance the night away and can’t stop her feet from moving when she hears music. She adores flamenco, salsa and even cha-cha-cha. She is also huge fan of travelling and dreams about visiting all of the seven continents.

I dressed her up in a beautiful crocheted dress in orange and grey, adorned with lace. She is wearing orange shoes with laces. She is approximately 14'' (36 cm) tall  and it took me 20 and a half hours to finish it.

Marija je strastna plesalka. Ničesar ne ljubi bolj kot preplesanih noči, pa naj bo to ob ritmu flamenka, salse ali čačačaja. Ko zasliši glasbo, njene noge pač ne morejo ostati pri miru. Je tudi velika ljubiteljica potovanj, zato sanja o tem, da bo nekoč obiskala vseh 7 kontinentov.  

Oblekla sem jo v oranžnosivo obleko s čipko in obula v oranžne čeveljčke z vezalkami. Visoka je 36 cm, kvačkala pa sem jo kar dobrih 20 ur.

New brooch

I'm saying goodbye to winter with this pin (I hope that it will help and that we will have spring in no time :) It is special because it is made in reduce-reuse-recycle spirit  out of the leftovers of yarn.

S to broško se poslavljam od zime in upam, da jo bo kmalu zamenjala pomlad. Broška je posebna, saj je narejena iz ostankov. Seveda ne kar od vseh po vrsti, ampak ostankov volne, ki je ostala od večjih projektov :)

Gaia, goddess art doll

Gaia (or Gaea or Gea) is the primal Greek goddess personifying the Earth, the Greek version of Mother Nature or the Earth Mother. I made her as a symbol of symbiosis of man and the nature and the way of environmentaly responsible way of life in which we should all live.

I dressed this handmade doll in beautiful crocheted dress in blue which represents the sky and in brown which represents the earth.

Gaja grška boginja, ki pooseblja samo Zemljo, je mati narava. Predstavlja simbiozo človeka in narave ter način okolju prijaznega življenja, ki bi ga morali živeti prav vsi. Oblekla sem jo v modro barvo, ki simbolizira nebo, in rjavo, ki odraža zemljo.

Ondina, water nymph

Ondina (from Latin: unda — a wave) is a water nymph, the elemental of water. The forest waters reflect in her hair and dress, so it is almost impossible to see her. She loves forest pools and waterfalls, which makes these perfect spots for nymph watching. But if you still can't se her, be still and listen. She has beautiful voice, which is sometimes heard over the sound of water.

And since she is a modern nymph she likes to write her own fairytales :)

Ondina (iz latinščine: unda — val) je vodna nimfa. Gozdne vode se odsevajo v njenih laseh in obleki, zaradi česar jo je skoraj nemogoče videti. Nora je na gozdne tolmunčke in slapove, zato so to najboljša mesta za opazovanje nimf. Če pa je še vedno ne morete videti, vam predlagam, da utihnete in prisluhnete. Pravijo, da ima prelep glas, ki ga rado ponese z zvokom vode.

Sicer pa je Ondina moderna nimfa, ki svoje pravljice piše sama :)
